Start with the surfaces buyers will notice
The strongest preparation is usually simple: clear benches, make beds neatly, remove visible bins and keep personal items to a minimum. Small distractions can pull attention away from scale, light and layout.
Aim for rooms that feel lived in but not busy. A few styled objects can help, but every room should still read clearly at a glance.
Check light, access and outdoor areas
- Open blinds and curtains before the appointment where possible.
- Replace blown bulbs and keep matching light temperatures in the same room.
- Move cars from driveways and garages if those spaces will be photographed.
- Unlock gates, garages, balconies and utility areas that need to be captured.
- Tidy hoses, bins, pool equipment and loose garden items.
Make the booking notes do some work
If there is a view, special access instruction, tenant restriction or room that needs extra attention, add it when booking. Clear notes help the team arrive ready and reduce follow-up calls on shoot day.
